This is who I am...
I dive in head first. In life. In relationship. In people.
I love seeing dreams come true. Especially with home ownership.
A defining moment from my childhood captures this spirit well. One day in the fourth grade, our teacher, Mrs. Schroeder, gave us the freedom to arrange our desks next to our friends. While most of my classmates quickly formed little clusters, I noticed Christine sitting alone. No one wanted to sit next to her. Without much thought, I moved my desk next to hers, driven to make sure she felt included and valued.
This act didn’t go unnoticed. Mrs. Schroeder later noted in my report card, “Merrily befriends the needy, the unloved. She consistently ensures that others are taken care of, always putting the needs of her classmates above her own.” That year, 1971, was not just another year of school; my core character began to emerge. Compassion and community was significant—a theme that has guided my personal and professional life ever since.
I believe this a calling. My calling.
